Guidelines for Preliminary Session
ISA Karnataka State Branch is pleased to announce that for the first time in an ISACON Karnataka Programme, a Trainee Talent Session is going to be introduced to identify, nurture and promote budding speakers in our speciality. The session also aims to promote their on stage presentation skills. Association is proposing to make this event a regular feature in future conferences.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
- Trainee means postgraduate in Anaesthesiology pursuing MD/DA/DNB in Karnataka.
- Trainees who have completed minimum one year of training are eligible to apply.
- Bonafide certificate from the Head of Department in this regard to be submitted along with the sample video to Scientific Committee.
- Brief one minute video of a sample presentation on any topic of their choice to be sent along with the application to the scientific committee of the conference and Executive Committee of KISA.
- The Heads of the Departments can propose name of only one trainee per institution; last date for submission to be fixed well in advance.
- Three judges from outside state will assess the videos by structured scoring system and allot rankings from the in descending order in a table.
No individual/institutional/departmental identity to be displayed in the videos or in the presentation. If identity is revealed in any manner then the candidate gets disqualified from the competition and also for the subsequent duration of his course.
Any false representation or impersonation of presentation will attract disqualification from participation for the duration of the course.
Focus of assessment will be on
- Introduction of TOPIC (not the department /college details)
- Fluency of presentation
- (the purported) audience contact
- If the speaker has the potential to take to a full fledged topic based on one minute video
- Total number of presentations in final session will be 6 ; the finalisation of the speakers will be done after scrutiny of all received applications,by the Scientific Committee of the conference and Executive Committee of KISA.
- The protocol for the final presentation, if selected, will be informed by the Scientific Committee and the topics for each of the finalists will be allotted based on computer generated randomisation.
- The deadline for submission is 30ᵗʰ July 2026.
