    Abstract Submission Guideline

    Please read the guideline carefully before uploading your abstract.

General instructions: 

  • ISA membership is mandatory for any type of participation in ISACON KARNATAKA 2026 including paper and poster presentation. ISA number should be quoted before submitting the abstract.
  • Registration for ISACON KARNATAKA 2026 is a prerequisite for any presentation. 
  • Eligibility: 
All submissions can be done online through the official website. Submissions  by e-mail or by hard copies will not be accepted under any circumstance.
(i) All valid members of ISA, of all age groups can participate.

(ii)  2 submissions permitted per delegate; one under each mode of presentation. 

(iii) The abstract must be original and should not be published or presented
elsewhere earlier. 
  • All submissions can be done online through the official website. Submissions  by e-mail or by hard copies will not be accepted under any circumstance. 
  • LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT IS 15th JULY 2026. The authors can modify their abstract till the last date. However, no   modifications in abstract will be allowed after the last date. 
  • Papers will be categorized into 3 groups based on designation of the main presenter: 
(i) Postgraduates. 
(ii) Teaching faculty (Senior residents/ Asst Prof/Assoc Prof/ Prof) 
(iii) Consultants/ Private practitioners. 
Please indicate the designation during submission of abstract.
  • There are 2 modes of presentation: Oral Free Paper / E-Poster. Please indicate whether the abstracts submitted shall be for oral or e-poster presentation. All the abstracts will be peer reviewed and the final decision to allocate an abstract to any type of presentation rests with the Scientific Committee.
  • Notifications regarding submissions will be sent to the corresponding author immediately after submission. However, acceptance will be notified only after peer review and revision, within 3 weeks of submission.
  • The right to accept or reject rests with the scientific committee and the decision shall be final.
  • A maximum of FOUR authors are allowed for each abstract (including the presenting author). If there are more than 4 authors, ONLY FIRST 4 AUTHORS WILL BE PUBLISHED and the remaining names will be AUTOMATICALLY ELIMINATED. 
  • The presentation of paper/ e-poster can be done by the first author only. Other authors will be allowed to present only under extra-ordinary circumstances, with prior permission of the organizing scientific committee. 
  • Abstracts stating "data will be discussed in presentation" will NOT be accepted.
  • Abstracts may be published in the official publication of ISA Karnataka (Karnataka Anaesthesia Journal) and a copy of the Declaration of consent for publication should be signed and sent with the abstract. 
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the contents of the abstract before submission.

  • Abstract text to be limited to 350 words excluding references and tables.
  • The text should be typed in Times new roman font & the size should be 11. 
  • Abstract for original studies should contain the following headings: (for paper/ e-poster) 
(i) Title 
(ii) Names of authors –only four authors including the presenter. 
(iii) Presenting author’s name , designation, institution and city. 
(iv) 3-5 Keywords- Mesh Dictionary 
(v) Introduction- Indicate the need for the study along with the aims and objectives of the research. 
(vi) Methods- Details of ethical clearance/CTRI, study design, study population, sample size, inclusion & exclusion criteria, study methodology, data collection and statistics used must be included. DO NOT MENTION HOSPITAL/INSTITUTION/ AUTHOR/ GUIDE name anywhere in abstract text except in author list (to facilitate a blinded peer review) 
(vii) Results - Demographics followed by clear depiction of the primary and secondary outcome measures followed by side effects if any must be stated. ONE RELEVANT TABLE / FIGURE MAY BE USED TO REPRESENT the outcome measures, but matter in table/ figure should not be repeated in text. 
(viii) Conclusion- Should be precise and focused on primary aim of the study only. DO NOT MENTION LIMITATIONS/ FUTURE SCOPE HERE. 
(ix) ONE Table/ figure (most relevant) 
(x) References (2 most relevant references)
